CG 24-10125 Empowering Commercial Tobacco Prevention Efforts in Tribal Communities

The California Department of Public Health/California Tobacco Prevention Program (CDPH/CTPP) intends to award four (4) grants to the following agencies in response to Request for Application #24-10125, Empowering Commercial Tobacco Prevention Efforts in Tribal Communities:

  1. La Jolla Band of Luiseno Indians
  2. Yurok Tribe
  3. San Pasqual Band of Mission Indians
  4. Enterprise Rancheria of Maidu Indians of California

This Request for Application (RFA) seeks to fund up to ten (10) Federally Recognized California Tribal Governments to address commercial tobacco-related disparities affecting the American Indian population. For this RFA, Applicants are required to: 1) Build capacity and skills among tribal members and staff employed by tribal governmental organizations to implement commercial tobacco use prevention and reduction interventions and provide health education services; 2) Mobilize and engage community residents and tribal governmental organizations to engage in commercial tobacco use prevention and cessation and support policy and system changes; and 3) Design, support, adopt, implement, and evaluate tribal policy and system change campaigns that seek to prevent and reduce commercial tobacco use.
