CG 18-10134 African American/Black Regional Initiative to Reduce Tobacco-Related Disparities

The purpose of this Request for Application (RFA) is to fund up to four (4) regional grants to address African American/Black population groups. The funded grant(s) will implement and evaluate evidenced based health promotion and health communication activities designed to reduce tobacco and nicotine use, tobacco-related disease rates, tobacco-related health disparities, and to develop a stronger evidence base of effective tobacco use prevention and reduction programs among African American/Black population groups highly impacted by tobacco use with the goal of reducing tobacco-related disparities.

The California Department of Public Health intends to award grants to the following agencies in response to Request for Application 18-10134, African American/Black Regional Initiative to Reduce Tobacco-Related Disparities:

  1. Riverside County Black Chamber of Commerce – Tri-County South
  2. African Communities Public Health Coalition – Los Angeles
  3. Youth Leadership Institute (Central Valley) – Central Valley
